On Monday 2nd Febraury a public forum was held at Albert Hall, Canberra about the NT Intervention. In a packed hall, 300 people listened to speeches from Irene Fisher, Chair person of Sunrise Health Clinic Katherine; Jon Altman, Centre for Aboriginal Economic Policy and Research ANU; Barbara Shaw, Mt Nancy Proscribed Area Resident; Elaine Peckham, Iwupataka Land Trust; Valerie Martin Napaltjarri, Yuendumu Proscribed Area Resident; Harry Nelson Jakamarra, former president of Yuendumu community and Rex Granites Japananaka, Yuendumu resident.
The forum was chaired by Mauri Ryan Japarta and was part of the convergence on Canberra Feb 1-Feb 3rd 2009.
